Medicare Supplement Plans

It probably doesn't come as any surprise, but traditional Medicare does not pay for all of your health care costs. People who have only Medicare coverage also pay a lot of money out-of-pocket for things like high deductibles and co-insurance payments.

Through the AIA, members and affiliates who want to supplement their traditional Medicare coverages can do so with three distinct products from Independence Blue Cross.

Personal Choice 65

Personal Choice 65 (PC 65) provides you with all of the same health care services of original Medicare and more. PC 65 is a Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) which offers you the freedom to see any provider without a referral. Members also have access to and reimbursement for wellness programs such as fitness, weight loss and smoking cessation.

  • Freedom to choose doctors and hospitals without a referral
  • Hospitalization covered at a co-payment
  • Co-pays for visits at more than 2,800 Personal Choice 65 participating physicians
  • Co-pays for visits at more than 20,000 Personal Choice 65 participating specialists
  • Some plans incorporate Medicare Part D, prescription drug coverage. Option to upgrade to a plan that provides coverage for prescriptions with a co-payment for an additional premium
  • No deductible for in-network providers
  • If you choose a non-network provider, you are responsible for an annual deductible and coinsurance
  • Nearly everyone with Medicare coverage is eligible as long as you are entitled to Medicare Part A, you are enrolled in Medicare Part B, and you live in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery or Philadelphia county

Keystone 65

Keystone 65 combines the benefits of Medicare and a typical Medicare supplement with the features offered by a Health Maintenance Organization (HMO). Keystone 65 is designed to keep you healthy by offering routine check-ups, along with access to and reimbursement for programs such as fitness, weight loss and smoking cessation.

  • Co-pays for doctor visits at more than 2,900 primary care physicians
  • Co-pays at more than 22,600 referred specialist sites
